Background.

The women who served in the 9^th Parliament at various levels with different backgrounds in training, experiences and skills came together and founded the Visionary Women Foundation VWF in 2017 having come face to face with a catalogue of challenges faced by ordinary women and girls including the youth. In their own right, they pulled together both the financial and human resources in order to address the identified challenge.

VWF is fully incorporated as accompany limited by guarantee not for profit, nonpolitical and without share capital. It is registered NGO with both a valid registration certificate and a permit to operate as an NGO under the laws of Uganda country-wide. Currently we have 33 members and it’s open for those who would wish to subscribe.

The focus is to promote gender equality by empowering women and girls to improve their livelihood as we fight against gender-based violence and discrimination.

1. To support women and girls to realize their full potential through mentorship, education, vacation skills and economic empowerment.
2. To advocate for the elimination of human rights abuses and gender-based violence.

4. To work towards protecting the environment for sustainable development
